"Doctor doctor, will I die?"
"Yes my child... and so will I."
(anon)
It's true for you and me too. Meanwhile, let's find some meaning for ourselves, enjoy the beauty and do things that won't leave a mess for our kids and their kids.

KEEP THE BEAT NELSON - 2008
Thanks to Ryan Gillis for the poster (click to see the cool detail)
The organizers of Keep the Beat last year
For the third year, a group of girls in Nelson, including daughter Zoey, are putting on a 10 hour concert in Lakeside Park, Nelson BC. The event raises money for War Child Canada and they've sent about $20,000 so far for this work. It also brings the community together (1,000 plus last year) and gives these young women amazing skills and experience. I'm their adult sponsor... I do what I'm told.
If you're in the area, come on out! If you want to donate, let me know. If you want to check out the headline act from Vancouver, go here Mother Mother. This is a hot indie band, who I loved before this came up.
The pace is slowing down, at least on the outside. More later.
Meanwhile, here is a song by Feist, the Canadian indie artist who is becoming known finally. She was up for a few Grammies this year. See what you think about this performance from Paris a couple of years ago.
Hey, blogger buddy Sarah had a nice encounter with Barack Obama and posts some thoughts, some photos and some cool video clips on her site. Have a look. She's one positive woman this Sarah J...
What would you ask Senator Obama if you could? You first!
I live in Nelson BC Canada. I have one lovely Anna, two adult kids (in New York and Montreal), a small house in downtown Nelson, an interesting career as a consultant and lots of other interests, including working for human rights (through Amnesty International and Peace Brigades International mainly).
