It's 2007!

It's soon going to be too late to wish a Happy New Year...just how long is that good for anyhow?

We had our annual Middle Road Community talent show and party on New Year's Eve. I usually take part in a skit or two, then provide the fireworks. This year we celebrated on Manitoba time so that the fireworks would be a couple of hours early, for little kids to get home to their warm beds and for the teenagers, abandoning our tame party for their wilder ones. Some of the wilder adults danced until 3:00 am (real time). I was asleep by 1:00 (in bed, not on the dance floor).

I'm still here and will post something intelligent soon (well... you can judge). In the meantime, a little winter humour.

Why are you posting pictures from our family album?

Love Calvin. It was a terrible error in judgement we made naming Patch. Happy 2007!

happy new year to you Gary!

Happy new year ... and please wish me snow!!!!!
It is soon middle of January and there was only two snowflakes melting on a warm ground. This is unheard of in New England!
I've been here for twenty years ... and there were strange winters before, but nothing like this.

Hilarious comics.

i LOVED the second one!!!!!

Did you sing, tell jokes, act, play the trombone or indulge in satire for the New Year skits!! ,,, for some reason, maybe the idea of telling stories i am reminded of Mark Twain's book "The Wayward Tourist” about adventures in Aussie land –a lecture tour in 1897. Included with each chapter an introductory quote-
…man is the only animal that Blushes or Needs To –
It is your human environment that makes climate.
Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; truth isn't. -Ref -Puddd’n head Wilson’s New Calendar.
best wishes in 2007

How long is it good for? Well, when Thersites was here, and I suddenly noticed I had forgotten to take my wreath off the door, he said it's considered the holidays until the end of January. At that time, it becomes Valentine's Day....

I have trouble posting on some of the blogs, now that everyone has gone over to the dark side. But my computer "let" me on today.

Happy New Year to you. Sounds like you had a great party. I usually try to be asleep by about 12:01... :-)

Cheers,
Josie

[Found you @ sophie's]

I'm a Calvin & Hobbes fan..the 2nd one cracked me up. xoxo

Happy New Year Gary!! I don't think there's a time limit on wishing someone a happy new year... esp. sometimes when you're only in contact with someone later in the month. :)

I love Calvin and Hobbes! Good comic strips you've got here!:)
