Answering the call to new work...

If you are on facebook you probably know that I'm still around... I've been pulled to the dark side of short messages, inane postings, quickly uploaded photos and peeking into my kids lives (and their friends and their friends as it turns out).

I recently won the job lottery and left my 10 year consulting business to work as the Director, Community Engagement for the Columbia Basin Trust, an organization that has a large endowment and delivers a huge range of benefits to the Columbia River Basin (with the interest).

Check out the My Basin pages to see the lovely and special place that I live and work.

So will it be nice to be settled down? Many congratulations and best wishes.

Hi Gary – I think I recall you did some consulting work with this Trust a number of years ago - you were also advising then about their website? It sounds like a wonderful opportunity and ideal position well suited to your talents and background. Hopefully the pace of work load will diminish as well. It certainly is a wonderful place – to be kept in trust for nature.

It sounds great, Gary, and very fulfilling. Glad to see you posting, even if it's just a quick update.

BIG congrats on winning the job lottery.... in heaven. will this mean more opportunities to paddle the canoe?

you are lucky to have actually *meaningful* work! congrats gary and best wishes in all you do.
