It would be funny, but...too close to home

Thanks to PIca for this.

Comments:
Sure is.

Damn you Gary... you just nearly made my hot Chai tea come out of my nose.... :)

Isn't it the truth?

It must be just scorching up there in Nelson right now. It's scorching here in Vancouver.

Lol. Thanks for the belly ache. I visited your blog after a full lunch and this sign made me laugh out loud, resulting in the above mentioned belly ache. :)

Yeah Josie - it's almost 40 degrees today (for you US folks, that's over 100). But I'm on my way to a music fest on the shore of Kootenay Lake - I can dive in if needed!

YO Gary, Thx for the laugh bro. Too bad nothing happens in the mean time..

I suppose when the nightmare actually hits, the laughter of present will become a faint whisper of: "Oh my god, I never thought this would REALLY happen."

As it's almost 40 degrees where you are today and your on your way to a music fest on the shore of Kootenay Lake - I made an attempt at a song or poem for you !!

New culture of fear

United we stand, George we fall
Blair responds to a Bushes call
Spins for power, new labour Esquire
Spins for power fuels fateful desire

Alarm bells sound almost every day
Fearful tune for both work and play
Fear knocks on your door
Tells me I can stand no more

Dance you now to a rock and roll beat
Dance without fear of political heat
Fly your flag of your country dear
Tribute to the new culture of fear

Alarm bells sound almost every day
Fearful tune for both work and play
Fear knocks on your door
Tells me I can stand no more

My first thought when I looked at that sign was, "No shit"

Whoever added the two lines at the bottom knows what's going on.

That's not funny. That's sadly true, mister!

except that 'we' do not stand united'...
so is that 'scorching' really something else? Geez, and I thought it was regular central Texas summer weather! Wait till I get back home! (CA)
Ingrid

Thanks all - Lindsay, you go to verse so easily and so nicely!

Pissed Off, Jublu and Ingrid - hey, it gets a reaction and well, sometimes dark is funny...
